Greenwood Country Club Tennis

At the Greenwood Country Club, we are building a community of people who share a passion for life and the game of tennis. In a day when it seems technology is taking over our lives, it is a blessing to participate in a sport that doesn’t consume lots of time yet allows you to have fun, stay mentally and physically fit and make friends for life. Tennis is a sport that can be played for a lifetime.

The rich history of the game of Tennis is becoming lost in the busy American culture of today. Compared to many sports, tennis is easy to learn and play. Even a novice can quickly experience the thrill of competition. Tennis is a game that is never too early to start and it’s never too late to learn, making it an ideal activity the busy lifestyles of today.

For children, it is a sport that can teach many life skills. Instruction and hard work will often show rapid improvement and a sense of accomplishment. Work ethic, attitude, strategy, competitiveness, health, stress relief and team work are just some of the many benefits you will find. And for children who really want to pursue the potential of a college career, tennis offers more opportunity than many other sports.

The Greenwood Country Club boasts a state of the art Tennis Facility with 9 tennis courts – 4 hard courts and 5 green clay courts.  We also have two pickleball courts. The club also features a full service Tennis Shop with Men’s and Women’s Locker Room with lockers and showers.  The shop offers all types of racquet repair and the latest in Racquets, Shoes and Bags.  The shop is fully staffed and snacks and beverages are available for purchase.

Thank you members so much for your help with brushing the clay courts. Normally the shop attendant will brush and groom the courts after play, but if you are playing after the shop attendant leaves please brush and line courts upon completion of play. This helps our clay courts stay in superb condition.

Please remember to email or call the Tennis Shop to request your court reservations for your matches. This greatly helps with scheduling for the evening play and also for scheduling for the daily maintenance of the clay courts. Remember to use email: gcctennis@greenwoodcountryclub.com

Please check in the Tennis Shop before playing on our clay courts. Many days the courts will be just too frozen or too soft to play on.  Thank you for your understanding in this manner.  By staying off of the courts at questionable times, the courts will play superior.
